Preparation for bricklaying for the new multipurpose building is underway

Internal brickwork nearing completion in the new multipurpose building

Internal blockworks are complete and roofing is being installed on the new performing arts building.

The electrical rough in has been completed and window frames are being installed in the new building

The installation of internal wall sheeting is underway. The next stage will be the installation of the ceilings, and also of glazed bricks to the exterior of the building.

The exterior of the building has now been clad. The design features coloured panels, including areas of brightly glazed brickwork. The roofing has been completed, and the windows are about to go in.

Windows have been installed in the multipurpose building. They feature low level louvred panels, which will encourage natural cross-flow ventilation and reduce the building's dependence on air-conditioning. This is one of the design features that will help to make the building more energy efficient. In the classrooms ceiling battens have been fitted ready for the ceiling sheeting to be installed. Painting work is due to begin.

A large wall of bifold doors has been installed to open onto a future paved outside area. Work is currently underway on installing the heating, ventilation and cooling system for the building.

Ceiling installation has been ccompleted and the electrical fit-off is proceeding. Joinery is being installed in the kitchenette and practical activities wet area.

The installation of joinery is continuing, with large storage cupboards currently being built in the classrooms. An operable wall has been installed to enable the teaching space to be divided when desirable, and hard landscaping work such as the construction of paving and planter boxes is being done outside the building

The new multipurpose building has been completed and was handed over to the school on 24 August 2010.

The BER Recognition Ceremony to celebrate the completion of the building will be held on 11 February 2011
