An existing hall wall has been demolished in preparation for extensions to the hall, and excavation for in-ground services is taking place

Demolition of the existing hall is close to completion

Stormwater and sewer services have been diverted away from the new building, and a curved footing has been poured for the construction of a semi-circular band stage room in the new hall.

Recent rain has caused slight delays; however work is progressing on the construction of the slab. Waffle pods, which will assist in insulating the floor, are being installed. In the next stage, reinforcing rod is put in place between the waffle pods and the slab will be poured.

Work is continuing on the slabs for the new building. Formwork is in place for the upper level slab, and the lower slab has been poured. This lower level will be the main hall floor. A curved formwork is being constructed for the semi-circular band stage room.

Both levels of the slab are now completed. The next stage will be construction of the steel frame for the building.

There will be a temporary pause in external onsite work while minor design modification work is completed. Work is currently continuing on an internal school storeroom.

Weather permitting, work will commence during the coming week on the erection of structural steel for the extension.

Work is well underway on the erection of structural steel for the hall extension. Framing work will continue over the next few weeks.

Formwork construction and the laying of blockwork for the exterior walls is underway.
- 29 Sep 2010 - Hawker Primary P21
The external walls are substantially complete, and the roof has been installed. The focus of the work will now move to the interior of the building.

Inside the building a stack of wall sheeting is stacked ready to be installed. Wall and ceiling lining and the rough-in of electric cabling will be the next stages in construction.

Exterior near completion and installation of light fittings and floor coverings, and painting underway in hall
