The footings for the new school library and computer lab are under construction.

Portions of the exisiting building have had to be demolished in order to build the new facilities. This demolition is almost complete. The next stage will be the pouring of the slab for the new flexible learning area. Waffle pods, which have been installed prior to the pour, will assist with insulation in the new building.

The slab for the extension to the building has been poured, and now requires curing time in order to reach the required structural strength. The interior of the old building has been demolished to allow work on the extension to take place.

Construction of the steel frame for the extension is in progress. Formwork has been constructed for a set of steps that will lead into an educational courtyard to one side of the new building. During the next two weeks work will continue on wall framing and on the installation of roof sheeting.

The access steps to a future educational courtyard have been poured. Installation of the new library's roof has begun, and is expected to take between one and two weeks to complete.

External wall insulation and cladding is underway, and mesh has been laid for the installation of roof insulation before the roof cladding goes on.

The new flexible learning area, which was created in the space previously occupied by the old library, has been completed and was handed back to the school on 3 August 2010. In the new library and computer lab building the internal wall framing has been completed and insulation is being installed.

Work on the new library and computer lab is proceeding ahead of schedule. Wall and ceiling sheeting and the electrical rough-in have been completed, and painting work is about to begin.

Internal glazed partition walls have been installed in the new part of the building.
- 29 Sep 2010 - Macquarie Primary P21
Painting has been completed and the carpeting has been installed. Next week computers will be installed in the computer lab and the air-conditioning will be commissioned. The building is close to completion.

The educational courtyard now has a painted on chessboard, which can be also used for other games. Some minor works, such as the installation of the water tanks, still remain to be done.
