Internal brickwork is in progress. Construction of a covered walkway beside the new building has commenced.

The installation of roofing and of ducting for air-conditioning in the new library is underway. The three new classrooms will have evaporative cooling.

The installation of roofing and air-conditioning has been completed. Currently, the library ceiling, which consists of accoustic wooden panels, is being installed, and framing has been constructed for a library office area.
- 28 Jun 2010 - Miles Franklin Primary P21
Work is progressing on the General Learning Areas, with the electrical fit-off and painting work due to begin shortly. In the library, the ceiling installation is finished and the office area has been clad with sheeting and is ready to paint.

The building work has been completed and the three new classrooms and library were handed over to the school on 24 July 2010.
