18 Jun 2010 - Painting work has begun in the new classrooms. The copper piping visible at the base of the walls is for the installation of the heating system.
25 Jun 2010 - This image of the central multipurpose area illustrates some of the design features which will help to make this building environmentally sustainable. A bank of louvred windows will be installed in the top of the highest wall (top left in the photograph) and will be used to encourage natural cross-flow ventilation through the building while also admitting high levels of natural light.
14 Jul 2010 - In the central multipurpose area the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC)system is being installed. Since the building incorporates a range of passive cooling features, this will be used mainly to provide winter heating. The upper level area with the wall still at framing stage will house the plant for this system.
14 Jul 2010 - Inside the classrooms ceilings have been lined and windows installed during the past week. The stack of sheeting seen on the floor will be used to line a coloured, internal feature wall.
14 Jul 2010 - A view of the progress of the building works from outside. (The existing library is to the left of the photo.)Scaffolding surrounds an upper area where heating and air-conditioning plant will shortly be installed.
08 Aug 2010 - The heating and ventilation (HVAC) system has been installed and internal lining of the upper level is complete.
08 Aug 2010 - The classrooms are taking shape. These windows, newly installed in the internal dividing walls, will allow the rooms to receive good levels of natural light.
25 Aug 2010 - The roof framework is being installed on the shade structure, which has been designed to match an adjoining structure in height and style. The structure can be used as a covered outdoor learning area (COLA), and a softfall floor has been installed to make it safe and comfortable for students to play or work in.
25 Aug 2010 - A view of the high level windows in the multipurpose area, with the installation of the glazing completed.
25 Aug 2010 - New joinery has been installed in the new classrooms. The rooms are only undercoated at this stage.
25 Aug 2010 - Joinery is now being installed in the six new classrooms to provide plenty of storage. The colours, which were inspired by gemstones, have been chosen to look fresh and bright against the white walls. Next, painting of the undercoated rooms will be completed.
