About web accessibility
Web accessibility is the practice of designing online tools so people living with disability can use them. It focuses on ensuring that people can:
- navigate and interact with web content
- perceive and understand information
- engage with the web.

Our commitment
The ACT Government commits to ensuring that its websites are accessible. It is committed to meeting a range of accessibility standards. Our websites aim to meet to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 (WCAG2.1) developed by W3C. Specifically:
- Level A (Full compliance)
- Level AA (Full compliance)
- Level AAA (Where possible).
The ACT Government is committed to providing websites that are accessible to the widest possible audience. Each website is designed to display and a range of web browsers as well as work with accessibility hardware and/or software. Our websites follow techniques to accommodate a range of connection speeds and are scalable to a range of displays.
