Career Cluster Program

The ACT Department of Education and Training is committed to providing career support for young people. The Transitions, Careers and Vocational Learning unit is managing a range of programs to ensure that each student in the ACT has access to high quality, timely career guidance. The Career Cluster Program (CCP) is one such program.

The key outcomes for the CCP are aimed at enhancing collaboration between career advisors in schools and supporting innovative projects leading to improved career development for students.

Effective career development for students will be underpinned by:

system and school support for student career development
training and ongoing professional development for career advisors
career education embedded in the curriculum, and
innovative and relevant career development projects in schools.

Information for 2009

This year the ACT Department of Education and Training will again provide up to $50,000 for the Career Cluster Program. Funds will be provided to clusters submitting a project proposal that clearly adheres to the CCP guidelines. The amount of funding provided to each cluster will be dependant on the number of successful applications and the nature and estimated costs of each application. The funding allocated to each cluster must be divided between the participating schools (allocation of funds to each school is decided within the cluster). Schools may provide additional support to the cluster project if they wish.
