Curriculum Programs
The ACT Department of Education and Training is committed to school based curriculum development.
Individual schools and colleges develop curriculum materials to support teaching and learning approaches that best meet the needs of the school and local community. School based curriculum development provides ownership of and flexibility in programs. As part of the school development process school based curriculum is regularly audited.
School based curriculum development for Preschool to year 10 is supported by the ACT Curriculum Framework. ![]()
Year 11/12 course frameworks are developed by the Board of Senior Secondary Studies
and used by schools to develop courses. They provide a framework for developing content and assessment. The BSSS also has Type 2 courses available on their website.
