The Department of Education and Training is hosting the inaugural Directions conference, a new and exciting initiative for careers and vocational educators.

The Directions conference will be an annual event to promote vocational education and training and career education as an integral component of school and college curriculum.

Directions ’08 Conference overview

The Directions ’08 conference is part of  the professional development strategy for vocational learning and career educators in schools across the ACT.  The key strategic directions for the conference will be to provide:

  • a national perspective of careers and vocational learning
  • a variety of concurrent workshops, which will be the catalyst for professional discussion, debate and future innovation in educational practice and
  • a forum for stakeholders to promote synergies between vocational and career professionals.

Registration for Directions '08 is through the ACT Department of Education and Training Professional Learning Calendar External Link (Please follow the link to register)

Alternatively please download the Registration Form (PDF File pdf 43kb) and fax it to Danielle Hey on (02) 6207 2980

Once at the Professional Learning Calendar login (if you are an existing user) or register as a 'New User', follow the prompts and locate the Directions '08 conference and conference dinner in April 2008. Please note, if you wish to attend both the conference and the dinner, you will need to register for both the dinner on the Sunday night and the Conference itself as these appear as 2 separate events on the calendar.
