Step into the Limelight

On behalf of the Minister for Education and Training, Mr Andrew Barr MLA, the Department of Education and Training is proud to present Step into the Limelight at Canberra Theatre 16th and 17th of September including a matinee on the 17th September. Step into the Limelight is an extraordinary evening of visual and performing arts created and presented by students of ACT public schools.

Step into the Limelight, the Territory’s creative and performing arts showcase event began in 2007 and was an outstanding success. Performed at the Canberra Theatre the last two years have seen full houses. In September 2009 Step into the Limelight will showcase the highest quality artistic works involving over 1000 students from the ACT’s eighty-eight public schools in a unique blend of Music, Drama, Dance, Media and Visual Arts. The theme of this years production is ‘Colour My World’.

• Promote ACT Public education through the Creative Arts
• Provide enriched learning experiences for students
• Provide quality teacher professional development through collaboration
• Showcase a range of quality art works inclusive of all school sectors
