ACT Teacher Scholarships

The ACT Teacher Scholarships program is part of the provision for teacher professional learning under the ACT DET Teaching Staff Union Collective Agreement 2007 - 2009 and the Professional Learning Funding Guidelines MS Word File (91kb). The Teacher Scholarships program consists of two components: the Targeted Programs and Individual Scholarships.

Targeted Scholarships

Targeted scholarships in 2008 will provide places in the University of Newcastle’s Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies MS Word File (55kb) (Pedagogy – quality teaching model) program. Participants will be identified through school clusters in consultation with directors. Successful applicants will be informed on 11 February 2008.

Individual Scholarships

Applications for the next round of individual scholarships are due by COB, Monday, 23 June 2008.
An Information Session will be held on Monday 16 June 2008 3:45pm – 5.00pm, Room 10 at the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL).

As announced in the current teacher scholarships flier MS Word File (67kb), applications are encouraged from ACT Government school and preschool teachers who have been employed with DET for a minimum of three years. Applicants should email the application form to Professional Learning Section and should request principal endorsement to be sent to the section by fax (links below).
