ACT Teacher Scholarships
(91kb). The Teacher Scholarships program consists of two components: the Targeted Programs and Individual Scholarships. There is separate provision for principals through the ACT Principals' Association (ACTPA) and through distributions of funds to schools under the Principal Professional Learning Fund (PPLF).
Targeted Scholarships
Targeted scholarships for teachers in 2009 will provide places in four areas:
- Educational Studies (pedagogy – quality teaching model)
- Educational Leadership
- Special Education
- Early Childhood Education
Applications for places in any of the four targeted scholarships programs are to be submitted by close of business Tuesday 17 February. Targeted Scholarship Application Form 2009.
The program in Educational Studies (pedagogy – quality teaching model) will again be provided in 2009 by University of Newcastle.
Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies, University of Newcastle.
Selection of the other providers will be done in January 2009.
Overview of Programs.
Applicants are to complete a separate application form for each scholarship area of interest. The principal only needs to complete one Candidate Rating form. If more than one scholarship is being applied for this should be noted in the appropriate place on the rating form.
The closing date for all applications is close of business Friday 6 February 2009. The scholarship program will commence in term 1, 2009. Enquiries should be directed to Frank Keighley (50335) and final applications should be sent to sharon.hough@act.gov.au.
Individual Scholarships
Applications for the next round of individual scholarships are due by COB, Wednesday, 26 November 2008.
An Information Session will be held on Wednesday 5 November 2008 4:00pm – 5.00pm at the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL).
Applications are encouraged from ACT Government school and preschool teachers who have been employed with DET for a minimum of three years. Applicants should email the application form to Professional Learning Section and should request principal endorsement to be sent to the section by fax.
