Vocational and Higher Education

Contact Training and Tertiary Education

The Training and Tertiary Education (TaTE) Branch is responsible for the provision of strategic advice and the overall management of vocational education and training and higher education in the ACT, including vocational learning and career and transition support for students as they progress through school sectors and from school to post-school options.

The Training and Tertiary Education Branch provides policy support, direction and management of all aspects of funded programs for vocational education and training including User Choice, VET in Schools, the Priorities Support Program, Adult and Community Education grants, the Joint Group Training Program, and the Productivity Places Program. The Branch also manages the allocation of competitive funded programs and the responsibilities of the State/Territory Training Authority (STA) with regard to Australian Apprenticeships contract management including liaison with Australian Apprenticeships Centres (AACs), employers, Australian Apprentices, and national and local regulatory bodies.
