Community Education Advisory Group
What is the Community Education Advisory Group (CEAG)?
The Community Education Advisory Group (CEAG) is a group established to give strategic advice to the Director, Training and Tertiary Education, quality and informed advice on community education matters.
The membership of CEAG has a skill set that is designed to provide quality, informed advice. CEAG is not a representative body with members being invited by the Director to join CEAG on account of their broad and differing areas of experience and expertise across the community education sector, and their capacity to provide independent expert advice.

The Director TaTE appoints the Chair of CEAG with membership of CEAG being reviewed by the Director TaTE at least every two years. Appointments to the Advisory Group are staggered to give some continuity of membership. The Training and Tertiary Education Directorate support CEAG by providing limited administrative support.
How does CEAG operate?
CEAG meets formally as a group at least three times per year – in March, June and October to align with the community education planning cycle. Members of CEAG are also be invited to participate in various forums and meetings with key stakeholders.
The Chair of CEAG reports to the Director TaTE on key issues.
CEAG is not a representative body, members are expected to adopt a position that takes account of the interests of the community education sector in the ACT and of the responsibilities that DET has for this sector. The focus of the Committee is on strategic not operational, community education matters.
