AVETRA 2012 – 15th Annual Conference
The Australian Vocational Education and Training Research Association (AVETRA) 15th Annual Conference will be held on 12-13 April 2012 at Rydges Capital Hill, Canberra. The theme for this year’s conference is The Value and Voice of VET Research: For individuals, industry, community and the nation.AVETRA aims to promote quality VET research, build capacity to undertake VET research and evaluation, and provide opportunities to exchange information and ideas.
The AVETRA 2012 conference will be held over two full days on Thursday 12 April and Friday 13 April with additional pre-conference workshops on Wednesday 11 April and two social events.
The Conference Welcome Reception will be hosted by the Canberra Institute of Technology on Wednesday 11 April and the Conference Dinner will be held on Thursday 12 April at the Australian National University, in the Great Hall.
The conference will explore the following broad themes:
- The economic and industry impacts of VET research
- The social and community impacts of VET research
- VET research and its relationship to policy formulation
- The impacts of VET research on individual learners and groups of learners
- The place and role of new researchers
- The “voice” of VET research: Whose and who listens?
