The national VET system is underpinned by the National Skills Framework. The National Skills Framework consists of three components:
The Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) 
The AQTF is the set of nationally agreed quality assurance arrangements for training and assessment services delivered by training organisations.
The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)
The Australian Qualifications Framework is a comprehensive framework for all nationally recognised qualifications in schools, vocational education and training, and higher education.
Training Packages
A training package is a set of nationally endorsed standards and qualifications used to recognise and assess people’s skills in a specific industry, industry sector or enterprise.
